Chicken Circus: COMPLETED!
Yesterday, we finished the first of our three chicken coops: 100% constructed, standing up, ready for feathered residents! A huge congrats to Stevie and CJ, whose “Chicken Circus” concept turned out beautifully crafted and designed thanks to the duo’s solid geometric concept and use of reclaimed materials. The two swinging doors allow for easy human access to feed and water and collect eggs, while the attached front run gives the chickens external space that is protected from predators. The concept showed a remarkable marriage between CJ’s “chicken in a box” idea and Stevie’s unique trapezoidal form, and the texture of their palette wood, corrugated metal, and steel tubing brings an “industrial chic” aesthetic to a very functional coop. While we’re still negotiating the exact final location of Chicken Circus (Ag School? Downtown Windsor? A single family?), we’re confident its future residents will make it a very happy home! Stay tuned for the forthcoming completion of the other 2 coops, Coopus Maximus, and ChickTopia.
